Society of St. Vincent de Paul

This is one of the most vital organs of our parish life, Founded by blessed Frederick Ozanam in France in 1833, the society seek to help the needy in a spirit of , Christian love, charity and sacrifices. Our own parish unit known as St. Louis Conference of the Society promotes various works of mercy such as feeding the hungry, adopting poor families, funding deprived children to pursue studies, blood donation camps, village tution centre, conducting medical camps and giving medical assistance. The parish community generously helps the various charities of the society. The members meet every Saturday and evaluate their work with prayer.

Medical Camp

Medical Camp is being conducted on 2nd and last Sunday of every month. Thanks to Dr. Rex Sargunam, Dr. Manivelan, Mrs. Sarojini (Nurse), Mr. James (Physiotherapist) and Mrs Annam Rosario.

Blood Donation Camp

Blood donation camp was organized on 12th April 2017 jointly with Dr. MGR Medical University. Thanks to 49 blood donors for their kind gesture.

Sunday Noon Meal

Food packets distributed to 65 persons every Sunday at noon. Food is cooked, packed and distributed to beneficiaries in our church premises

Daily Night Meals

Food packets distributed every night (through arrangement with an outside agency) to 11 poor persons

Monthly Financial Assistance

Financial assistance to 26 poor families and orphanage at Ponneri  (Anbu Illam).

Rs. 2,500 Veg Noon Meal Scheme for one Sunday for 65 people
Rs. 4,500 Non Veg Noon Meal Scheme for one Sunday 65 people
Rs. 750 Daily Bread (Night Meal) Scheme per Person
Rs. 6,500 Daily Bread (Night Meal) Scheme per month for 9 people
Rs. 2,000 Contribution for Tuition Center per month
Rs. 2,000 Contribution for Medical camp for one Sunday

The Conference functions with a modest strength of 12 members with Rev. Fr. P.A. Jacob, Parish Priest as spiritual advisor.

  • Members meet every Saturday after morning mass. 
  • Some of the members are also otherwise active in various Parish Committees – Parish council, finance committee, education committee etc.
  • The Conference focuses on corporal works of mercy – feeding and clothing the poor, visiting the sick, attending funerals etc.
